Judy was a lifelong resident of Savannah. She was born on November 12, 1943 to the late James Edward “Bookie” Whalen and the late Margie Elizabeth Cribbs Whalen. Judy’s life was a combination of faith, family, and friendship. Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Rion Hilliard, and a sister, Mary Graddick.

Judy’s children, grandchildren, and siblings all held a special place in her heart. She will be missed and lovingly remembered by her sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph Rion and Elizabeth Hilliard, Michael and Stephanie Hilliard, and Carter Hilliard; five grandchildren, Alexis, Ashley, Wyatt, Rion, Michael, Jr. "David", and Cameron (Macaila); seven great-grandchildren, Mary, Wyatt, III "Bubbas", Madison, Makenzie, Kaison, Sophia, Juniper, and Kameron; three sisters, Diane Sciolino, Kathy Bryant, and Janie Aeger (Charlie); brother, James Edward Whalen, Jr. "Bubba", and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
